Rebecca Saunders-JonesRebecca Saunders-Jones

Rebecca joined W J James & Co in 2000, after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cardiff. She was a regional prize winner in her final examinations and is a member of the Farming & Rural Business Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Rebecca became a director in W J James in 2010 and is proud to head up the small and friendly team in the Hay on Wye office. She looks after a varied portfolio of clients with a particular specialism and interest in agriculture.

Rebecca is delighted to have passed the Agricultural Law Association (ALA) Fellowship examination in 2023. The stringent examination was based on a scenario-based situation and followed several intense periods of residential study. It covered specialist taxation issues, current policy considerations, trust issues and agricultural law.

This qualification means she joins one of about 200 other expert professionals including Lawyers and Land Agents who work in the rural sector and are Fellows of the Agricultural Law Association.

Out of the office, Rebecca is a proud mother of 3 energetic lads who finds trying to have the ideal work/life balance a challenge but tries hard to achieve this. She is involved in the running of the family farm with her father, husband and family and says she especially enjoys working with the cattle, whether it be show or sales preparation.

She enjoys running and can often be found on the lanes around her home first thing before the working day starts. She has run several half marathons and would like to run a full marathon before she hits 50 !
